The unveiling marks another bold step in the institution’s commitment to providing a conducive and modern learning environment for its students.

The two-storey structure features spacious classrooms, wide corridors, and enhanced ventilation designed to promote comfort and effective learning. With sturdy pillars, well-finished balconies, and a carefully crafted stone-finished foundation, the building reflects both durability and architectural elegance.

            This new classroom block significantly increases the school’s capacity to accommodate learners 
            while improving the overall teaching and learning experience.

It is often said that competition fuels excellence, and that a healthy contest strengthens character and sharpens ability. This truth was powerfully demonstrated when Kiira College Butiki (KCB) emerged as the best team from the African continent and first runners-up at the Eurasian Schools Debating Championship(ESDC) 2026.
Through dedication, discipline, and relentless preparation, the KCB team showcased remarkable debating prowess on an international platform—proving that excellence is no accident, but the result of focused effort and strong institutional support.

The Champions Behind the Achievement

The team comprised:

Kwagala Samuel Mulambuzi – Senior Five
Gidudu Ephraim Akaya – Senior Three (Assistant Head Prefect)
Isabirye Alvin – Senior Five (Chairperson of all Club Presidents)

Competing against some of the most formidable schools worldwide, the team won five preliminary rounds and defeated top international contenders. Their performance highlighted not only intellectual sharpness but also composure, teamwork, and persuasive eloquence.

A Global Arena of Ideas

The championship was hosted at Istanbul in Turkey from January 17–19, 2026. A total of 79 teams from different countries participated, debating diverse and intellectually demanding topics. The competition tested critical thinking, research depth, analytical reasoning, and clarity of expression—skills essential for global leadership in the 21st century.

Debating as a Tool for Transformation

According to Club Patron Madam Sarah Munaba, debating is far more than a competitive activity—it is a powerful instrument for personal growth and intellectual maturity.
