Founded in 1959 by the Busoga Lukiiko (local administration) under Kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki, KCB was established to improve education in the region. Starting as a junior secondary school, KCB expanded to O-level in 1965 and subsequently to A-level in 1981, becoming a top performing school in the country not only in academics but also in sports and other co-curricular activities. The school is fondly referred to as the "Hill of Intellectual Horizons" and is recognized for fostering discipline and producing "Men of Substance".
